Generic Levitra Online: Who Prescribes Vardenafil, What It Costs, and How to Avoid a Fake Pharmacy

By Treatment Comparison Editorial Team|Updated 2026-09-16

Most searches for “generic Levitra” end on one of two kinds of page: a large telehealth brand that does not actually carry vardenafil, or an unlicensed shop selling “brand Levitra” that no longer exists in the United States. This guide lists the services whose own pages offered vardenafil when we checked, what format each supplies (approved tablet, orally disintegrating tablet, or compounded chewable), and what they publish as the price. It ends with the checks that keep you away from counterfeit pharmacies.

What “generic Levitra” means in 2026

Levitra was Bayer's brand of vardenafil hydrochloride tablets. Bayer notified FDA in 2019, 2020 and 2021 that the 5 mg, 10 mg and 20 mg tablets were being discontinued, and in May 2023 FDA determined the withdrawal was not for reasons of safety or effectiveness. That determination is what allows generic vardenafil to keep being approved and sold. So the product you can actually buy is generic vardenafil: a prescription tablet in 5, 10 or 20 mg, or an orally disintegrating 10 mg tablet that dissolves on the tongue.

Separately, several telehealth brands sell a chewable made with vardenafil. Those are compounded products prepared by a pharmacy, not FDA-approved generics, and FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality. They are a different product even though the ingredient name is the same.

Who prescribes or dispenses vardenafil online (checked September 16, 2026)

Hims, Ro, Rex MD, Lemonaid and most other large ED brands built their menus on sildenafil and tadalafil. The services below are the ones whose pages listed vardenafil on the access date. Prices are what each provider prints on its own page; consultation fees, minimum quantities and renewal prices often appear only at checkout.

Tablet, ODT or chewable: pick the format before the price

MedlinePlus is explicit that the vardenafil tablet and the orally disintegrating tablet cannot be substituted for each other, and that the ODT is placed on the tongue without water. A compounded chewable is a third thing. Comparing a $3 approved tablet with a $2 chewable is comparing different products; the prescriber decides the format, and only then does the per-dose price mean anything.

  • Approved tablet: prescribed 5, 10 or 20 mg, about 60 minutes before activity, no more than once in 24 hours.
  • Approved ODT: 10 mg on the tongue, no water; not interchangeable with the tablet.
  • Compounded chewable: pharmacy-prepared, not FDA-approved; ask why a compound is appropriate for you rather than the approved tablet.

How to tell a licensed pharmacy from a counterfeit shop

The queries that bring people here (“buy levitra online”, “brand levitra online pharmacy”, “order levitra”) are exactly the ones rogue pharmacies target. FDA's consumer guidance lists the warning signs: no prescription required, no licensed U.S. pharmacist available to answer questions, prices dramatically below every legitimate source, and a website that is not licensed in a U.S. state. Every legitimate provider in the table above requires a prescription or issues one after a clinician visit.

  • Does the site require a prescription, or issue one only after a licensed provider reviews you? If neither, leave.
  • Is the dispensing pharmacy licensed in a U.S. state? Check the state board of pharmacy.
  • Is a U.S. licensed pharmacist reachable?
  • Is the product named honestly (generic vardenafil tablet, ODT, or compounded chewable) rather than “brand Levitra”, which is no longer sold?
  • Is the complete first-order price shown (visit + medication + shipping) before you pay?

What to bring to the consultation

  • Every prescription medicine, supplement and recreational substance you use; say specifically whether you use nitrates or “poppers”, which are contraindicated.
  • Any heart-rhythm condition or family history of long QT; the vardenafil label carries a QT-prolongation caution the other PDE5 inhibitors do not emphasise.
  • Whether you take an alpha-blocker for blood pressure or prostate symptoms; the label asks for an individualized plan, not a blanket refusal.
  • Which format you were quoted, so the prescriber confirms it matches the prescription.
