What “generic Levitra” means in 2026

Levitra was Bayer's brand of vardenafil hydrochloride tablets. Bayer notified FDA in 2019, 2020 and 2021 that the 5 mg, 10 mg and 20 mg tablets were being discontinued, and in May 2023 FDA determined the withdrawal was not for reasons of safety or effectiveness. Tablet, ODT or chewable: pick the format before the price

MedlinePlus is explicit that the vardenafil tablet and the orally disintegrating tablet cannot be substituted for each other, and that the ODT is placed on the tongue without water.
